Shipping & fulfilment

This article answers common questions about shipping & fulfilment.

How can I update my Shipping template?
You can update a shipping template with the Settings APIs. To update a shipping template, call the Update shipping template API: PUT /v3/settings/shipping/templates/{templateId}. Note: Several sample shipping templates have been provided for various shipping scenarios. Each sample shipping template corresponds to a JSON sample provided in the API Reference: /v3/settings/shipping/templates{templateId}.
What is an inbound shipment? How do I create one and what happens after?
An inbound shipment is the process of shipping products from a seller's location to Walmart's distribution centers. To create an inbound shipment, submit a WFS Inbound Shipment Request to Walmart's API. After creating an inbound shipment, Walmart's logistics network will handle the storage and fulfillment of your products.
I have a general inquiry related to Shipping template via API?
Shipping templates can support a fast and precise delivery experience to bridge the gap between promise and actual delivery time. The Settings API allows you to create and manage these settings as a shipping template. You can create a shipping template to specify faster shipping for specific regions. First, specify the regions and the shipping speed at which buyers in that region can get their items shipped. Next, you assign the product SKU to that shipping template. These APIs can be integrated directly or via channel partners that have adopted these changes. These changes can also be accessed via the Walmart Seller Center. The APIs use the standard header parameters listed on the Developer Portal. Note: To download the Shipping Templates APIs JSON Schema from: MPShippingTemplatesJsonSchema.zip. What is the Lag Time API and why is it important?
The Lag Time API is a Walmart Marketplace API that provides lag time information for Walmart Marketplace orders, which is the time it takes for an order to be processed and shipped after it is received by Walmart. This information is important because it helps merchants provide accurate delivery dates to customers and manage their inventory and shipping more effectively. I want my items to be converted to WFS. How can I do it?
To convert items to Walmart Fulfillment Service (WFS), follow these steps: download and extract the WFS conversion spec, then create a Marketplace item and convert it to WFS. Alternatively, use the new Item Spec v4.1 to set up items for WFS in one step. If needed, create an inbound Purchase Order (PO). Next, call the Convert Items to WFS API using the OMNI_WFS feed type. Note that there is a new requirement to restrict item sales by geographic location, including state or zip code. If no restrictions apply, set the Restriction Type to \_None_. For more information, see the [Restrict item sale by state or zip code guide](https://walmart-marketplace-group.readme.io/us-marketplace/docs/restrict-item-sale-by-state-or-zip-code).

The Inbound Order creation fails due to various errors such as SKU not in WFS catalog, missing required information, invalid product ID, duplicate Inbound Order ID, or duplicate Product ID.
How can I cancel customer WFS inbound order?
If you need to cancel an Inbound Order that you created, you can call the Cancel Inbound Shipment API. You can cancel an inbound order before the shipment arrives at the WFS fulfillment center. Individual shipments within an Inbound Order might not be canceled individually; you must cancel an entire IO. Note: You cannot cancel a Shipment if its status is "Receiving in progress," "Closed," or "Canceled." To verify the status, call the GET Inbound Shipments API. To cancel an Inbound Order, call DELETE /v3/fulfillment/inbound-shipments{inboundOrderId} and specify the Order ID inboundOrderId as a URL path parameter. To learn more about cancel order, visit: [Cancel an inbound order (IO)](https://walmart-marketplace-group.readme.io/us-marketplace/docs/cancel-an-inbound-order).

The Walmart Multichannel Solution is an extension of Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), uniquely placed to ensure quality, scale, and efficiency for a seller to grow a successful business. Sellers onboarded on the Walmart Multichannel Solution initiative can use this API to get the order details such as ship node, status, order channel ID, and date of order creation. With order details, there are also order line details, which include status, shipping method, fulfillment type, etc. The API can respond with more information on multiple orders based on query parameters like order created date (startDate and endDate), status, shipNumber, and orderChannelId.
